What is the money in Cuba?<\/p>\n

Cuba is a unique country with a dual currency system. The two main currencies used in Cuba are the Cuban Convertible Peso (CUC) and the Cuban Peso (CUP).<\/p>\n

The Cuban Convertible Peso (CUC) is the currency most commonly used by tourists and foreigners in Cuba. It is pegged to the US dollar, with 1 CUC being equivalent to 1 USD. The CUC is used for most tourist transactions, such as hotels, restaurants, and taxis.<\/p>\n

The Cuban Peso (CUP) is the official currency used by locals in Cuba. It is also known as the national peso, and is used for everyday transactions, such as buying groceries and paying for public transportation. The exchange rate between the CUC and CUP is approximately 25:1.<\/p>\n

The Cuban government introduced the dual currency system in the early 1990s as a way to attract foreign investment and tourism while keeping inflation under control.
