**What is the RMS value of the electric field?**<\/p>\n

The RMS, or root mean square, value of the electric field is a measure of the strength of the electric field fluctuation. In other words, it gives us an idea of the average intensity of the electric field over time.<\/p>\n

To understand the RMS value of the electric field, let’s first discuss the concept of electric field. The electric field is a physical quantity that describes the force experienced by charged particles in the presence of an electric field.
