However, it is important to understand that the Hazelwood Act specifically pertains to educational benefits and does not apply directly to housing.<\/p>\n

The Hazelwood Act was initially established in Texas to offer qualified veterans and their dependents an opportunity to pursue higher education by waiving their tuition fees. This program caters to veterans who enlisted in the armed forces in Texas before September 1, 1995, and provides them with up to 150 semester credit hours of tuition exemption.<\/p>\n
