Is Citizens Bank Black owned? This is a common question that arises due to the lack of diversity in the banking industry. Citizens Bank is one of the largest banks in the country, with branches across multiple states. However, it is not a Black-owned bank.<\/p>\n

Citizens Bank was founded in 1828 as the High Street Bank in Providence, Rhode Island. Over the years, it has gone through various mergers and acquisitions to become the bank it is today. Currently, Citizens Bank is a subsidiary of Citizens Financial Group, which is owned by The Royal Bank of Scotland Group.<\/p>\n

Despite not being Black-owned, Citizens Bank has made efforts to promote diversity and inclusion within the company. It has diversity and inclusion initiatives in place to address the lack of representation of minorities in the banking industry. Citizens Bank has also supported various programs and organizations that promote financial literacy and economic empowerment in minority communities.<\/p>\n

While it is important to support Black-owned businesses and banks, it is also important to recognize and appreciate the efforts of larger financial institutions like Citizens Bank in promoting diversity and inclusion. By supporting banks that prioritize diversity and inclusion, we can help create a more equitable and inclusive financial system for all.<\/p>\n
