Panama is a country well-known for its famous canal that connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. But what is the name of Panama’s money? <\/p>\n

The official currency of Panama is the Panamanian balboa, named after Spanish explorer Vasco Nu\u00f1ez de Balboa who discovered the Pacific Ocean in 1513. The balboa is equal in value to the United States dollar and has been used alongside the dollar in Panama since 1904. The country doesn’t actually print its own paper money, so U.S. dollars are used for all cash transactions.<\/p>\n
