What is Money Flow Index?<\/p>\n

The Money Flow Index (MFI) is a momentum oscillator that measures the strength of money flowing in and out of a security. It is similar to the Relative Strength Index (RSI) but takes into account both price and volume data. The MFI ranges from 0 to 100, with readings above 80 considered overbought and readings below 20 considered oversold.<\/p>\n

The formula for calculating the Money Flow Index is as follows:<\/p>\n

MFI = 100 – 100 \/ (1 + Money Flow Ratio)<\/p>\n

Where:
\nMoney Flow Ratio = Positive Money Flow \/ Negative Money Flow<\/p>\n

Positive Money Flow = Sum of the positive money flow over a certain period
\nNegative Money Flow = Sum of the negative money flow over a certain period<\/p>\n
