Peppard studied civil engineering at Purdue University and later transferred to the Carnegie Institute of Technology, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in 1955.

His breakthrough role came in 1961 when he starred alongside Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” He also appeared in films such as “The Carpetbaggers,” “The Blue Max,” and “Silence Like Glass.”
